Exercise Your Right

For some reason, there’s satisfaction in posting about a run on social media. I am totally guilty of posting pictures along the run, photographs of my running shoes, or giddy pre-race grins. But if you know me, you know running is a huge part of my life, which is why I continue talking about running. I also post pictures of my kid, my family and friends, my paintings, what I’m reading, and lots of cat pictures too. Yeah, I’m a thrill a minute and in bed by 10pm.

I have two feet and two working legs, so I run. Yay me! Like my post on Facebook so I can temporarily inflate my ego before stealing some of my daughter’s Halloween candy and carefully concealing the evidence in the trash. I can do something most able bodied people on the planet can do and put one foot in front of the other and run. That’s nothing special.

What is special is the right to vote. Not all able bodied people and everyone else in between can vote on this planet, so go and vote! Better yet, why don’t you get on your running shoes and run up to your local polling station and vote. This way, you can exercise and exercise your right to vote. Vote because some people can’t. Vote because you have that right. Vote because it’s the right thing to do. I did, and I hope you will too.
