Training and Race Schedule

Triathlon Classes at the Haverford Area YMCA

If you’re interested in training for a triathlon with other athletes and are a member of the Haverford Area YMCA, then send me an email at greekgirlruns@gmail.com.  I’m coaching athletes to complete their first sprint triathlon, helping them get back into the sport, or working with experienced athletes. All are welcome. There is no charge for the class if you’re a member with the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA. Please note that this is group instruction, and if you would like one-on-one coaching, sign up for one of my training plans.

Mondays: 8:00-9:00am swim. The swims are organized like a masters’ swim program, so feel free to drop in and swim what you can.

Tuesdays: 7:00-8:00pm in the cycling studio for a bike session. We’ll work on speed and hills as well as zone 2 endurance sessions.

Thursdays: 5:00am-6:00am swim. I will have about 3000 yards planned, but you do what you can. If you are new to swimming and can barely swim the length of the pool, or are working on your endurance, the workout can be modified. We’ll also work on flip turns and other skills in the off season.

Saturdays: 6:00-7:00am bike in the cycling studio and 7:15-8:15am swim in lanes 5 and 6.

Swimming in lanes 5 and 6 from 7:15-8:15am. Included in the 3000 yard workout will be a fun group session.

Run from 8:30-9:00am. The run will be on the indoor track at the Y, or we’ll run on the treadmills if it’s not too crowded. Weather permitting, we may head outside on the Pennsy Trail.
